About Our Helmet

Our company has been in the leather business for over 35 years. We have listened to our firefighter customers and built what we feel is the answer to a lot of their requests and concerns for an old school traditional leather helmet that exceeds the current day performance standards. Each helmet is hand-crafted, as follows:

1. We start with a vegetable tanned leather outer shell. and brim we can customize with your name, station, etc. ($35 option) You pick your color scheme.
2. Now we add a CARBON FIBER inner liner which is extremely strong!
3. Next, a polyurethane foam layer covers it.
4. Completing the assembly is a high impact shell, with six point suspension and adjustable ratchet system.

The ear protection is three layers of nomex fire retardent fabric. A leather adjustable chin strap has all metal hardware, no plastic, for long life. The shield bracket is diamond plate polished aluminum with ornament. Eight reflective tetrahedrons are standard on all helmets. Flip-down eye protection in amber, smoke, and high temperature clear is an available option for $49.95.

We also have tried to have the NFPA certification, but the cost of this process is staggering for a small company such as ours. We have made this helmet to standards we know exceed the requirements of the codes, and we feel confident it would pass.
